The candidate journey had to be designed as a first-class part of the ATS.

The business initially prioritised the recruiter/TA experience. I pushed for the candidate journey to be developed in parallel because it is the first product touchpoint and every later recruiter action depends on a clear handoff between candidate, panel and TA.

Entry

Secure but simple access

Let candidates enter through email OTP without creating another password.

Progress

Unclear next steps

Make screening, assessment and interview status visible in one continuous journey.

Coordination

Scheduling friction

Replace repeated calls with a transparent exchange of candidate and panel availability.

One mobile workspace with one clear action at a time.

The experience brings profile setup, stage progression and interview scheduling into a guided flow while preserving visibility across the complete hiring process.

01

Guide the next action

Each state explains what is complete, what happens next and what the candidate must do.

02

Keep progress visible

A persistent stage model connects screening, assessment and every interview round.

03

Make scheduling self-service

Candidates can choose recommended times or propose slots from their own calendar.

Ten moments from secure entry to a confirmed interview.

The candidate always knows their current stage and the next action needed to keep the application moving.

Prepare for interview

Explore the candidate flow screen by screen.

Use the previous and next controls to follow the complete experience.

Give both sides control over the meeting time.

We treated scheduling as a two-person handshake rather than a recruiter-controlled calendar. Candidate and panelist can work from suggested slots, accept the other person's availability, or propose custom timing—reducing repeated coordination while preserving flexibility.

01

Candidate shares slots

Recommended times can be selected or new availability can be proposed.

→
02

Panel receives a match

The available candidate appears as a recommendation for the relevant panelist.

→
03

Interview is confirmed

After the handshake, the candidate sees the final time and interview details.

Screening→MCQ→L1→L2→EL round→Client round→HR round

The strongest candidate experience removes uncertainty.

The design makes progress, responsibility and timing visible so candidates can act independently while staying connected to the wider hiring workflow.

Clarity

One next action

Every state focuses attention on what the candidate needs to do now.

Confidence

Visible progress

Completed and upcoming stages make a long hiring journey easier to understand.

Coordination

Shared availability

Candidate-selected slots connect directly to panel recommendations and confirmation.
